History

Beginnings in Heavy Hauling
Maxwell companies were started by Ed Maxwell, a self made business owner who was born and raised in State College, PA. He purchased his first tri-axle for $32K at the age of 19 to become an owner operator. In addition to driving the truck, Ed learned to maintain the truck himself and used the earnings to continue to acquire a current fleet of 20 tri-axle's and four low-boys.

Expansion to Residual Waste and Snow Removal
In 1990 Maxwell companies purchased its first back hoe and obtained a large scale snow removal contract with the Nittany Mall. In 1995, the company expanded to 20 employees and obtained the Corning residual waste contract to haul waste between State College and various location in the North East Region as the preferred hauler for Corning Asahi Video Products.

Expansion to Commercial Site and Utility Work
In 1997, the company expanded further into excavation work with contracts for various commercial site work. In 2008, the company added utility work to it's portfolio of abilities. To date Maxwell Companies maintains multiple crews, mechanics and drivers to service Pennsylvania and outlying areas.
